Idealism and Pragmatism: Convergence or Contestation? A Leverhulme Trust-Sponsored Network

The aim of this project is to consider the relation between two great philosophical traditions: idealism and pragmatism. While on the face of it they may appear to be at odds with one another, it is becoming clearer that there are also many potential positive connections between the two, whether understood historically or systematically. We will investigate where these similarities and differences lie, considering both their historical links, and also their relation to central areas in philosophy.

This blog exists to facilitate wider discussion about the project through reading groups, summaries of our events, and guest posts from experts in this field. If you are interested in contributing to the blog, please contact the Network Facilitator Kim Redgrave
